I recommend shooting on Nerja's beaches at sunrise in summer: the soft rays of sunlight reflecting off the water create a truly magical atmosphere, and the absence of tourists lets you feel completely at ease in front of the camera. In winter, sessions can take place at either sunrise or sunset, as the crowds are far thinner.

Locations

For those who prefer more secluded and textured settings, the coves and beaches at the foot of the cliffs are ideal — such as Calahonda (Playa de la Calahonda). For those who prefer not to walk far, the beaches directly below the Balcony of Europe are a great option. The combination of turquoise water, dark rocky outcrops, pale sand, and the magic of the early-morning sun creates an utterly unique atmosphere.

I always bring a blanket along for our session. For family photoshoots with young children, seaside accessories also work beautifully — ocean-themed toys and shells, which I can provide.

For romantic sessions I can bring a basket of flowers. We could also set up a picnic with morning coffee cups. Just imagine: watching the sunrise on the beach, sipping coffee and eating croissants — all while capturing beautiful romantic shots! These little touches can turn your photoshoot into a real date, where you're not just posing but living the moment.

If your session marks a special occasion — like a pregnancy announcement — props become the main storyteller. Tiny baby shoes, an ultrasound scan — these tender details share the big news without a single word.

Outfit

For a coastal setting, light and semi-sheer fabrics work best: muslin, fine linen or silk. In the sea breeze these materials move beautifully, adding life and airiness to every shot. Long sundresses with slits or loose tunics are a fail-safe choice. The fabric will softly drape around your silhouette as you move, creating that cinematic look against the turquoise waves of Nerja.
